Week 22 - Carter turns 19!

Hey everyone, I'm 19 now!! Here's my week๐Ÿ˜‹

Monday- Monday was good as usual, we woke up and went to crossfit and then had studies. After that we went to Walmart and then went to Harrisburg to play basketball and what not. Nothing exciting except that I grabbed the rim! ⛹️ I've never been able to do that before so I guess I'm in pretty good shape๐Ÿ’  After P-Day we came back and ate then cleaned our apartment.

Tuesday- On Tuesday we went to find some former investigators in the morning but we didn't find them so we ended up knocking an entire apartment complex for fun, none of them were interested but we invited several of them to our ESL class. Tuesday afternoon we went and did Puzzles and then went and visited Sister Bord. The main puzzle lady is getting surgery this week so she was really glad that we stopped by and I got to finish another puzzle! That's my second one๐Ÿ˜ Our lesson with Sister Bord was good too, she told me that I've guilt tripped her enough into reading her scriptures everyday now๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ she loves me though so it's all good. That night we had dinner with Hacho and Fe (Bulgarian couple) and it was a ton of fun. Hacho really likes us and he is less active so it's good and fun to hang out with them. I made a bet with one of the counselors in the bishopbric that I would get Hacho to church before I leave. I'm determined to do it, I've already gotten him in the church once, not I just need to get him to attend๐Ÿค” After dinner we went to our ESL class and we had a new lady there from Columbia. She had a super cool Spanish accent. She was like "you guys aren't gonna try and switch my religion or convert me right?" And I was just like "not yet" ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ but it was good and she's interested in all of the programs that the church has so ESL is working!

Wednesday- Wednesday we had District Meeting and it went well! Not my best lesson but it was still good๐Ÿ™† then we played a game after. We are obsessed with this game called Monopoly Deal. It's nothing like Monopoly though because it's super fast but it's super fun and competitive too. I would recommend it! One of the sisters in our District made us blankets! They are actually pretty cool, of course she made me a Star Wars one and I love it. That's the good thing about letting people know what your interests are, because then you always get stuff that you like๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ The Hershey Sisters also got me a copy of that Monopoly game for my Birthday so I made out like a bandit. ๐Ÿ˜ After District Meeting we went looking for an investigator but ended up teaching a less active instead ha and then we took her pit bull for a walk again. Then we passed out some ESL cards and then we went to Dinner with the Bishop and his family to a pizza place. After dinner we teamed up with a ward member to visit a couple more people and then we went home.

Thursday- On Thursday we taught Carlos our investigator in the morning and invited him to be baptized, he said yes and I asked him if he could do it on Feb 18th and he said he needs more time even though we promised him he could be ready by then. So that was frustrating but at least he said yes‍♀️ After that we went to all the Spanish restaurants in town and gave them pass along cards for the ESL class. They said they all knew people who needed to learn English and would probably go so we will see. Then we rode our bikes super far up to a less actives house and it ended up being a good visit because she said it had been a hard day for her and she just had a death on the other side of the family so we were able to help comfort her and stuff and leave a good message with her. It wasn't a planned visit, we just thought we'd try to see her but it was a good thing that we went. After that we tried another former investigator and she wasn't there but her mom was there who only spoke French. She couldn't understand us and I felt really bad so I decided that I'm going to learn French too๐Ÿ˜‚ So next time we go over there I can communicate. ๐Ÿ‡ซ๐Ÿ‡ท

Cake #1
That night we had dinner with the Fischer family and they did a little birthday party for me๐Ÿ˜‹ It was fun! And they gave me a huge pack of Snickers and made me a brownie cake as if I needed more junk food๐Ÿ˜‚ but I love them they're great. After dinner we went to visit EJ and we had a super good visit with her. She always calls me babe it's kinda funny but she's black so what can you expect. At the end of our lesson she asked about our missions and how much longer we had and stuff and I was like "18 months" then she said "18 MONTHS??!! Boy you be teachin like yous been out for 3 years, I though yous was about ready to go home" haha so I had to take some pride in that, it made me feel good.

Birthday Eve dinner at the Fischers :)

Friday- Birthday!!! On Friday I turned 19! It's weird to think that I'm that old ๐Ÿ˜… but like I'm still super young ha. Friday was our service day so we went and helped Brother Alva when in reality we are helping him help the rest of the neighborhood. It's good service because we get to serve like 8 different people in the same day and it's good for Brother Alva because he needs the company. We came back early and then went and visited Robert in the nursing home and this time he got himself all set up for church this week! He hasn't been since I've gotten here. He had his portable oxygen tank ready and everything for Sunday. I'm 100% convinced that it's because I bring him Jolly Ranchers every week, that's where this motivation is coming from hahaha๐Ÿ˜‚ Then after that we went and helped Sister Boyd set up for the Pine Wood Derby and they had a birthday party for me❤ they made my favorite childhood food which is calzones(which were amazing) and they got me a cake and everything and then they showed me the videos of the family telling me Happy Birthday. The videos were super cool but it was really awkward because everybody was just watching me while I watched the videos so yeahhh but it was a fun night!! Thank you all for the presents too๐Ÿ˜‹ I'll talk about those more in my individual emails.

Saturday- Saturday we taught 2 less active families in the morning and then we spent the rest of the day trying to find people without luck. Luckily that evening we had the Sorensons for dinner and they prepared an amazing meal for us and we had a good dinner with them, they are a cool family.

Sunday- On Sunday we had all of our normal meetings. Ward Council was kind of funny, I've started to talk a lot in Ward Council because people just kind of expect me to be the one to say stuff about missionary work and certain families and stuff. But there were like 3 different times when things were getting discussed that we were trying to find an agreement on and they didn't even have anything to do with missionary work and then the Bishop and like 4 other people in world would look to me for approval and in my head I was just like "uhhh yeah sure sounds good to me" ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ but it was just kind of funny because even the bishop looked at me like I was the bishop and I wasn't sure what to do lol. Anyways, church was good but there were like 4 different people that told us they would be there for sure this week and then they didn't show up. It's so frustrating because you work with these people all week and then there's no reward from it ๐Ÿ˜… they all lack motivation or something but they certainly have it when we are sitting in their house with them.

Birthday dinner at the Boyd's home!
The rest of Sunday was good, we visited somebody with the Sisters and then we went to dinner at the Nelson's house! One of the members of the ward today asked me if we were getting fed well and I was like "yeah why?" And then he said "You're looking thin" I thought he was joking but he was dead serious. So I weighed myself when I got home and I've lost almost 10 lbs since a month ago. I exercise every morning and stuff and I feel fine. Idk if I'm stressed or what but I didn't think I looked much different. Maybe I just lost my baby fat๐Ÿ˜‚ I guess I need to eat more๐Ÿ˜…

So this weekend was transfers and I'm staying here and I'm still DL. But, Elder Angulo's visa came through so he's headed to Portugal. I wanted to spend another transfer with him but Portugal is his real mission and I know he's excited to go there. So he leaves today and then my new companion gets here tomorrow. His name is Elder Hansen and I don't know anything about him so I guess we will just have to see what happens. So today and tomorrow I'm just hanging out with the Harrisburg Elders because Elder Angulo left for Pittsburgh to catch his flight. I think I'm on to my last transfer here in Lebanon but who knows. So I will be here for at least another 6 weeks. So I will most likely get transferred out of the walk area right as winter ends, perfect right? ๐Ÿ˜‚

Anywaysss, that's my week! Thanks for your emails and for all the Birthday Wishes and Presents! I will go write to guys throughout the day! Love and miss you guys๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’•

We all sent videos to Sister Boyd for Carter to watch on his birthday.

Cake #2!

Holding the Christmas Card we sent to the Boyd family.

Week 21 - It's just cold

Hey guys here's my week! Nothing crazy though.

Monday- Monday was good! We woke up and went to crossfit as usual but the sisters were sick so it was just us and the Boyd's. Sister Boyd let me create the W.O.D so that was kinda cool because it was all the workouts I chose and wanted to do. After that we studied and then took the car to Harrisburg because the sisters just wanted to stay home. So we played basketball and hung out with the other Elders and all that fun stuff. That night we went to dinner at a members house which was fun except that they didn't have the USC-Penn State game playing dang it. I was kinda bummed because I wanted to watch a little bit of that one and I heard it was a really good game. But we did have a pool tournament and I won๐Ÿ˜

Tuesday- Tuesday was absolutely freezing and raining all day and three of our appointments in the morning fell through. So we walked a few miles in the freezing rain and had nothing to show for it except having soaking wet shoes. You can't talk to people on the street either because your scarf is wrapped around your face and their face is tucked in their coat so it's not like you can hear each other. Everyone is just trying to get to where it's warm, they don't want to listen to you try and talk to them. So Tuesday is the type of day where you question why you're a missionary๐Ÿ˜… Luckily later in the afternoon we were able to team up with a member and see a couple less actives so it wasn't all bad. That night we had dinner at the Fischer's house which is always fun so the night turned out alright๐Ÿ’

Wednesday- On Wednesday we had District Meeting and I was given kind of a boring topic to teach on but I tried to make it interesting and everyone participated and paid attention and they said they liked it! So it ended up being good๐Ÿ˜‹ after the lesson we played a game where someone would read the characteristics of a Book of Mormon character and then everyone else had to try and guess who it was and if you were the first then you got to keep the card! Well I won ๐Ÿ˜ I'm pretty good when it comes to the Book of Mormon but if you had asked me about any of the characters in a different book I would've failed lol. After district meeting we went and did puzzles. The ladies there are really starting to like us hahaha. We tried leaving like 3 different times and they kept stopping us ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚. One of the ladies was talking to me and she said "How old are you?" I was like "You don't want to know how old I am" haha they ask me every time and then I say 18 and they all just about faint or have a heart attack like I was born last year lol. Anyways then that lady starting talking to me about her grandchildren(of course) and she said "I have a grand daughter the same age and she is one gorgeous thing, tall, skinny, perfect skin etc... you'd like her! A handsome boy like yourself, yeah you'd like her" hahaha I was just like "yeah I'm sure I would but we really gotta get going" ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚. Those puzzle ladies kill me every time. After that we went and visited Sister Bord and a couple other less actives and then the Brother Boyd came and picked us up last minute to have dinner at their house because we didn't have a meal๐Ÿ’ so we ate with the Boyd’s which was a party as usual and then after that we went to Book of Mormon class and then we went home.

Thursday- On Thursday we had a lesson with Modesto in the morning which went really well and then we invited him to come to church even if it was just for an hour and he said he would go! So we found him a ride and got it all worked out. I told him if we went then I'd bear my testimony. After that we went and taught Anil at Dairy Queen and helped him set some goals for the new year. Then we went to teach Robert! Every time we visit Robert, he expects me to have candy for him, he absolutely loves jolly ranchers and I haven't let him down yet๐Ÿ˜‚ He gets so happy when we come because he loves the scriptures and he loves jolly ranchers so it works well for him for sure when we do both. After that we had dinner at the Bogg's house and then we went and tried to talk to people on the street without too much success.

Cold service day
Friday- Friday was service day as always. We went and helped Brother Alva do all sorts of stuff. We started by shoveling and blowing his neighborhoods snow and then we fixed a couple snow blowers (I'm a professional at that now) and then we cleaned up his new garage a little bit and did other things here and there and then we went to a Mexican restaurant for dinner (completely decent) and then we went home๐Ÿ’

Saturday- Saturday was okay, we had a few less active lessons in the morning and then we went through a bunch of old names in the area book to try a few of the former investigators and we didn't have any luck. So we went home for a little bit to warm up so we weekly planned while we did that and then we went back out to try and find some more people in the area book and still didn't have any luck๐Ÿ™‍♂️ however, I called one lady in there and she actually answered! And she said she's interested so we are going to set up an appointment with her for this week! So that’s good. We were also able to hand out a few Book of Mormons and talk to a few people on the street so it wasn't all bad but it was a ton of walking. After the long day we went out to eat at one of the sports bars and caught the end of the raiders//Texans game๐Ÿ˜‹

Sunday- Sunday was kind of a bummer because half way through Ward council, the people that were going to give Modesto a ride texted us and said they were sick๐Ÿ˜… so none of them made it out. But 3 of our less actives were at church! So that was good! One of them(kind of a sketchy guy) asked me if she should go bear his testimony and I was like sure just go say what you know so he went up there and said something like "ya I have been a member for awhile and I hold the Melchizedek priesthood believe it or not so I'm pretty high up there in the religion" I just stuck my face in my hands.... The people you teach in the mission are kinda like your kids, so when they do something stupid it's totally on you๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚. For example: A couple weeks ago after church one of our less actives and one of the sisters investigators were hanging out and we couldn't find both of them and then we found them outside and they were smoking a cigarette together in the church parking lot¿? I was like you idiots what are you doing! I felt like a terrible parent, so we don't let our kids play with the sisters kids anymore because they aren't a good influence on each other. We grounded both of them and they are doing much better now. Anyways, church was good. Brother Boyd taught 3rd hour and it was kinda funny because he had a PowerPoint to go along with his lesson so we were all excited and then he said “Yeah believe it or not I actually got this PowerPoint from the RLDS website"๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ hahahaha it was pretty funny. After church we went to our (early) dinner appointment because it was fast Sunday so the families usually have us over right after church which is awesome. Then after that we visited a couple people with the sisters and then we came home and did some studies๐Ÿ™† That's pretty much it for this week.
Cold Lebanon streets

Other thing- It was absolutely freezing this week!!! Like holy moly, the weather is like 18 degrees and then there's a -1 degree windchill and then on top of that the humidity is like 80% so I've been absolutely freezing. But, ya know, it's all good❄️

I turn 19 this week! That's pretty crazy!! I love and miss you guys tons!!๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’•

Week 20 - New Years 2017

Hey guys, Happy New Year! 2017 is the only whole year where I will be on a mission so this is kinda weird haha but this last year has flown by. It feels like just yesterday I was DJing the New Years Party last year๐Ÿ˜… so we will see how 2017 goes. My goals for this year are to baptize someone that I find and teach(like be there for the whole process) and to finish my green Spanish textbook by doing one page every day. Kinda boring I know but my life isn't overly exciting right now so those are my goals๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ okay my week!

At Hershey Park
Monday- Monday was fun! We woke up and went to crossfit, but it was a very light workout because everybody was hungover and tired from Christmas lol. After that we went to Hershey Park!๐Ÿซ So if I haven't explained it before, it's an amusement park similar to Knotts berry farm except everything is Hershey Themed. So we went! It was really cold so there was like no one there๐Ÿ˜‹ we walked on to most of the rides and there were a couple were we just stayed on it to go again because no one was in line! Haha it was fun to watch my companion, Elder Angulo, because he's never been on Roller Coasters like that before so his facial expressions were priceless๐Ÿ˜‚ every time he would just start yelling saying "¡Voy a morrir!" haha and then after Hershey Park we went out to eat with the Fischer family. (Who also happened to be at Hershey Park that day) Hershey Park was fun but it still lacks the magical spirit that Disneyland has✨ We went to a restaurant called Fudruckers. Don't try and say it with your mouth full or it sounds like something else๐Ÿ’ but it was good so that was Monday!

Cold but Fun!
Tuesday- On Tuesday we got back to work, well kinda. We went and taught Modesto and Sister Bord but the lessons were both fine, but not great. We found a couple other less actives who didn't really want to come back or have us over or anything so it was kind of wasted. We decided to start knocking on random doors that we though might have potential just because we want more investigators but we didn't have any luck. Everyone here just says "No I already have a religion thank you" and then they close the door on us. This is a very religious area so I know they're not lying but it's still makes it hard for us๐Ÿ˜… like how do I politely say "your religion isn't going to save you"๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ They all think that if they go to church at least a couple times a year and crack open the Bible every once in awhile then they are "saved." I'm not even entirely sure what it means haha but yeah that's our struggle right now. We need to find more people!

It looks lovely :)
Wednesday- On Wednesday everything fell through. We started the day by going to a media referral appointment that we had set up the week before and we knocked and she didn't answer so then we called and she answered and then hung up and then sent a text that said "I'm not interested in the Mormon Bible anymore" gahhhhh Yeah me neither lady I don't even know what the Mormon bible is!! So that was frustrating then we went to another appointment that we had set up the week before with the less active Mexican family. We knocked on the door and the dad was just said "No es el momento mas prรกctica ahora para nosotros" so I was just like of course it's not, because you're not the one who told us exactly when to come back or anything¿๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜… so that was frustrating as well. Luckily on the way home when found EJ, the older African American lady and it was her birthday so she was glad to see us and we set up an appointment to go back and see her the next day. After that we went to do puzzle for a little bit with the Puzzle ladies and one of the old ladies and I actually finished one of the puzzles while I was there. We were both pretty stoked haha Then that night I had to go to Harrisburg to do a baptismal interview for one of the Hershey Sister's investigators. Hacho(Bulgarian less active guy) took us because he's awesome and he has a cool F-150 truck. I'm able to connect with him pretty well so we are good friends. So he took us to Harrisburg for the interview which went great! And then afterwards he took us to Buffalo Wild Wings๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜‹ so it tuned out to be a good night.

Thursday- Thursday was a pretty good day! We went and taught Carlos and Marina in the morning and it turned out to be really good. A less active and an investigator lesson combined in one. However, it is difficult Spanish for sure๐Ÿ˜… Marina started asking me how do you forgive somebody who has hurt you. I don't even know how to explain that in English let alone Spanish. So it was kinda hard but I just referred her to some scriptures and told her that there are resources that can help her on the church's website. But for the most part it was a good lesson! After that we went to district meeting. District Meeting was pretty good๐Ÿ’ not my best lesson but it was still a success. I started off by showing a video of Jesus and it has some really cool music so I used my new Beats Pill to enhance the sound๐Ÿ˜ it actually sounded super cool. The district marveled at it. Haha after the video they just said "I don't think the video would've been that cool if it weren't for the speaker" ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ haha so the Beats Pill invites the spirit there ya go! Anyways the rest of the lesson went well and then afterward we played a couple games and then we went to our appointment with EJ! It was a good lesson and she said that she would be at church this Sunday as long as she doesn't leave town for work! After the lesson Elder Angulo told me that it was really hard for him to understand her English and I was like don't worry man I can barely understand her English sometimes. She uses so much slang๐Ÿ˜‚ For dinner that night we went to a family's house named the Robinsons. They are of Jewish heritage so we celebrated Hanukkah with them! We all put on yamakas and had a Jewish dinner and then we played Hanukkah games and lit menorahs ๐Ÿ˜‚ it was kinda weird but it was fun. Okay so they have a son who is autistic but he is insanely gifted. He can hear any song and go sit down on the piano and play it, it's insane. He played All of Me by John Schmidt without the sheet music. Anyways, so I wanted to see how real this really this was so we played the #LightTheWorld video for him so that he could hear the tune and he was like yeah I think I got it. So he goes and sit down at the Piano and plays it absolutely perfectly!!!! IT WAS NUTS๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ I couldn't believe it. It wasn't just one hand either, it was like both hands playing full chords and he nailed it first try and he played almost a full minute into the song!!! It was one of the coolest things I've ever seen. So yeah that was Thursday!

Friday- Friday was actually a pretty good day for us! We started the day going to teach Modesto and it was one of the best lessons we've had with him. I was able to connect with him really well and comfort him because of the some of the experiences that I've had so I could relate to how he was feeling. He started crying and then told me that he wishes that he could talk with the power of the Lord like me... so that was crazy. Sometimes during lessons or while giving a talk or something you can almost feel the spirit like wrapping itself around the words you're saying and this was one of those moments. It was pretty cool. Anyways, then he told me to stop talking because my words were making him cry, and he said he felt a lot better after that. Idk where Elder Angulo was during all of this but he didn't really say anything. Then after our lesson or heart to heart or whatever it was, he gave us cake and ice cream, not because we wanted any but because you can't say no to Puerto Rican's when they offer you something. Then we went back to the apartment and teamed up with a member to go visit some less actives. We were able to catch two less active ladies with him and teach lessons with them, both visits were longer than they needed to be because whenever you bring a member, uncontrollable conversation breaks out. But they needed it so it was good.

At Brother Alva's with his giant pet tortoise
After that we went straight to our dinner appointment with the Lovell family and they made us Taco Lasagna which I've never had but it tasted really good๐Ÿ˜‹ It had been a long day by the end of the dinner appointment so we got back to the apartment and I said let's go visit Robert(nursing home) we were both exhausted and he's like noooo let's study or something but I was like no let's go see him, let's see if we can get 4 lessons in one day. Then he picked up the basketball that goes to my new mini hoop(thanks Bryce) and said "Si yo hago esto, no vamos a visitar Robert ahora" (If I make this, we aren't going to visit Robert right now) anyways he missed the shot but it quickly turned into an intense game of 1 on 1 in our giant wood floor hall way with the many hoop and whoever scored first got to decide what we did next. It turned out to be like a 10 minute long game and it was pretty funny๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ I'm pretty sure all of our neighbors were wondering what the heck we were doing haha but eventually he finally scored but then he agreed that we should go visit Robert anyways.  I was probably being completely unreasonable when I said we should go see him because it was like 2.5 mile bike ride and it was freezing outside and it was 7:30 PM by that point but we went anyways๐Ÿ˜‚ It was a good lesson though, he was happy to see us and we read some scriptures with him and showed him a video. I used the Beats Pill because Robert is probably half deaf and it made all the difference in the world!! He could actually hear the video and he loved it!! Haha then we went home and quickly planned and went to bed.

Saturday- New Years Eve! Saturday we did service all day at Brother Alva's house but it was actually good productive service. We moved several heavy tool carts and dug a giant trench๐Ÿ’ Then that night we went to Dinner at Hacho and Fe's house(Bulgarian couple) and then we came home and cleaned our apartment because that was our New Years Party๐Ÿ˜… Our Mission President didn't want us out on the streets on New Years so we just got to clean๐Ÿ™Ž‍♂️ Not quite as exciting as my last 2 New Years have been but whatever๐Ÿ™† haha I only have one more on the mission.

Sunday - New Years Day! Nothing crazy happened on Sunday. We didn't even have a dinner appointment so it was just planning, follow up and walking around. So that's my week! I love and miss you guys!❤

Week 19 - Christmas!

Merry Christmas❤❤ here's my week!!

Monday- Monday was just like most P-Days, we just played basketball and emailed and got ready for Christmas! Then that night we switch companions for exchanges with the Zone Leaders. So I took one of the ZL's back to Lebanon. It's always fun to be with some new for a change๐Ÿ’ Tuesday- Tuesday was exchanges and it was kinda slow but good. We taught Modesto and Sister Bord who are both doing well. Then we went to find some people for Bishop just to see if they still lived at the houses listed on the ward directory. Which none of them did, they had all moved.

Splits with another Elder
Tuesday was a lot of walking because there was still snow on the ground so we couldn't bike. And there was like no one on the streets to talk too so it was kind of a waste. Wednesday- On

Wednesday I taught District Meeting again and it went really well and it was fun too! The zone leaders came because we were switching back companions and they are supposed to attend each district meeting in their zone. It was fun to have them there and they gave a small training. Then I took the rest of the time and taught about the birth of Jesus Christ, the importance of a savior, and what the world would be like without him. Everyone participated and it turned out to be a really good lesson. The spirit was there. I had everyone bear a short testimony at the end and there were even tears! Ha you feel like an accomplished speaker or teacher when people are in tears at the end whether it was because of something you did/said or not. I did this super cool demonstration that showed how important Jesus is to us and it went 10x better than I thought it would haha everyone asked me where I got it and I was just like idk I made it up lol. I can't really describe it over text but yeah! Then we had a white Elephant gift exchange๐ŸŽ๐Ÿ˜ After the meeting, one of the ZL's came up to me and said it was the best district meeting he's been too! So that was cool๐Ÿ™† After District Meeting we hurried over to Brother Alva's house and helped him load and unload 3 pallets of brick๐Ÿ˜… then after that we ate some dinner at the church with another member from Puerto Rico. He brought us some chicken and rice that his mom made and it was actually really freakin good ๐Ÿ˜ After that we went to the hospital to give a member a blessing and then we went home.

They had a good time together
Thursday- Thursday was slowwww. We had 3 lessons with less active members but it just felt like the same stupid thing we do every week. They don't want to change so I just kinda felt hopeless for this area at the end of the Thursday. I felt like we do the same thing every week and it's getting old. Then that night after dinner I felt super sick but then Friday was different.

Friday- Friday was super good!! We found 2 less active families who we have been looking for forever and taught them and we contacted 2 referrals and we showed the Christmas message with 3 or 4 people on the street and then we got a call from someone interested in our ESL class. We even skipped our lunch hour because everything was going so well haha. Then that night we had dinner at the Franklin's house!!

Saturday- On Saturday we had studies then went to help one of the sisters investigators at the Navy Veteran Club for some service! It was a cool little venue, they had a bunch of cool paintings and stuff in there. Anyways, they needed someone to run this giant speaker system and play Christmas music and fix the microphones. Well luckily DJ cart showed up and saved the day haha I fixed the microphone, readjusted all the system settings because it sounded like crap and I played Christmas music. So yeah! Then after that we spent the rest of the day at the Boyd's house making tamales and celebrating Christmas Eve!

Sunday- Christmas!! We started off the day opening a couple presents and then we went to Church๐Ÿ˜‹ Church was super good, it was mostly musical numbers which were amazing here and then a couple short speakers. You could feel the spirit really strongly though and everyone was wishing each other a merry Christmas and stuff and it was just a good place to be๐Ÿ™† a bunch of members actually gave us a little presents and then one family gave me a Christmas Star Wars sweater! It's actually pretty sweet I must say. After church we visited a couple nursing home member and then we went to a members house for lunch and some games and then after that we went to a different house for dinner and to Skype our families! It was the Bulgarian couple and they made us a Bulgarian feast๐Ÿ˜ it was all super good! Skyping the family was awesome! But hanging up is really hard and the rest of the night was a little rough. An hour isn't very long at all๐Ÿ˜… but I loved seeing and hearing everyone! After skyping we ate and then played games and then we went home and opened the rest of our presents!! It was a pretty good Christmas even though I was on a mission๐Ÿ’ but being away from home is hard. This week was good though! And this next week should be good too! I love and miss you all have a good week!!❤❤

Where I'd rather be...
